Talking about fashion and not talking about Aishwarya Rai’s ostentatious costume in Jodha Akbar is really not accepted … Why? How can we forget the poised majestic look that Aishwarya Rai exhibited in the movie! And when ace designer like Neeta Lulla is the designer of the costumes then indubitably it should gets its precious presence in every fashion platform.

An historic movie portraying an eternal love story of the King and princess of Mughal era, this movie really needed the look and feel that Neeta Lulla gave through her grandiose ethnic costumes not only for Aishwarya Rai but also for the commoner in the movie. Keeping in mind the flamboyance of the Mughal era, the costumes and accessories chosen were quite heavy with lot of warm tones. The most ornate costume of the movie was Aishwarya Rai’s bridal dress as well as the one she wore for a celebration song. For the bridal dress, red color was chosen with lot of embroidery designed in fine detail. Woven fabrics and different textures like brocades, silks, and cotton were used along with lot of Zardosi, kundan, and stones embedded in the embroidery adding that extra glamour required. Gotta work were also done on some of the costumes. The jewelery used in Jodhaa Akbar dated back to the early period, but definitely with few modifications. They were curved out of gold, cut diamond, ruby, kundan and jade. Woah! I can even think of wearing all this … Isn’t it too much? Thank God, I am not born in the Mughal era.

Anyway, kudos to Neeta Lulla for bringing forth the beauty of the Indian fashion to the zenith point of fashion where barely anyone else can even imagine reaching!  Do you agree with me guys?
