I think Rani Mukherjee considers saree as her lucky charm. Now days, if you have noticed, in all the functions and events she is spotted wearing a saree, spreading that perfect contemporary Bharatiya Nari look. The other day while surfing through channels on television I happened to watch DPL (The Dance Premier League show) and what attracted me the most in the show was Rani Mukherjee’s saree and her look. She is really looking DPL ki Rani (as they call her) in her stunning Indian look!

I was so impressed by her sarees that now I watch the show regularly. Not only this, I also visited the DPL official website wishing that they may have a series of Rani’s photos flaunting that alluring look in different sarees. But alas! I couldn’t find many. Nonetheless, I came across this photo of hers with Shaimak Davar. And I must say, she is looking just mind blowing in it.

Talking about the saree that she wore, it’s an elegant lustrous shimmer georgette saree in neutral beige. The contrast maroon velvet piping along the borders adds a dash of color to the neutral tone. The blouse, also in contrast luxurious velvet maroon just gives that royal touch to the entire outfit. Also this reminds me of the saree that she worn on the first day of the show. It was a sizzling red chiffon saree embellished with sparkling sequins along the borders. The pallu of the saree revealed a couple of sequins stripes adding that extra charm to the saree.

Now I understand what makes the outfits she dons in her movies an instant rage. It is the fact that these are extremely ‘wearable’ and appeals to the common masses. Affordable, simple yet trendy, one need not necessarily spend a million bucks for these and still end up looking like a million bucks!!

Great Going Rani … saree is truly your pitch but see to it that you don’t stick to it for a long time. After all the common masses look up to celebrities like you for new fashions. As you people are the true fashion trendsetters!
