The Ranveer Singh – Sonakshi Sinha starrer, ‘Lootera‘, inspired by O. Henry’s short story, ‘The Last Leaf’, has sparked a lot of curiosity among people for a variety of reasons, the most common one being the chemistry between the unusual and as yet unseen lead pairing.
The movie has a definite 1950’s old world charm to it, which is clearly reflected in the aesthetics and costumes. This blog is going to tell you exactly how you too can achieve Sonakshi Sinha’s vintage, yet completely look charming, be it for a themed party or just for a change from looking like your usual self.
From whatever we have seen so far, in the trailers and song promos, Sonakshi has been clad in a sari throughout all of it. She is seen wearing simple cotton and handloom saris in colors like lilac, red and purple, with simple work on the border, and hardly any work on the skirt and the rest of the sari. The blouses are also simple and modest, as befitting her character of a woman set in the 50’s era, with a little motif work on some of them. She sported Bengali and Benarasi saris in scenes that required a heavier look.
Her make up is minimal at all times, while her hair is tied low on her neck and pushed to one side, with a few wisps left hanging to give her entire appearance a more demure look. She is also seen in a lot of juda, jhumkas, long bindis and chotis along with some other hair accessories to successfully carry off the authentic Bengali look.
The look is remarkable simple and easy to achieve as it does not require much effort of dressing up in heavy garments, but at the same time is very stylish and will garner much attention among a crowd if it is carried off well. So try to keep it simple and fuss free and you too will be the belle of the ball.
