The 2016 Emmys saw the usual flurry of celebrity extravagance. Numerous actors, actresses, producers, directors and specialists of the television and film industry were vying the top awards for the most extraordinary Primetime television shows. Priyanka Chopra was by far the best dressed of the lot, with her look receiving praises from some of Hollywood’s biggest fashion critics.
India’s very own Priyanka Chopra was quite the sensation at this year’s Emmys. The ‘Quantico’ star was praised by critics from all over, for her flowing, fiery red, Jason Wu designed, split one-strap shoulder gown. She also received kudos for her magical twirls on the red carpet as well as on stage while presenting an award alongside British Actor and the star of ‘The Night Manager’, Tom Hiddleston. Her choice of hairstyle along with the Brian Atwood heels made for a foxy style that will be in people’s minds for ages to come.
Although a disappointing night for Fargo star Kirsten Dunst, being nominated but not winning, her style for the event was a definite winner. Dressed in a simple, black, column Givenchy dress, embellished with Belle Epoch jet beads, she looked a stunner. Accessorizing the look with a Roger Vivier clutch and shoes, along with a set of 19th-century Colombian emerald and diamond earrings by Fred Leighton only helped elevate the style even more.
The whole ‘Game of Thrones’ crew created history at this year’s Emmys for the most primetime Emmy wins, with a whopping 38 trophies, breaking the record previously held by ‘Frasier’. But one of the main stars of the show, Emilia Clarke, who plays ‘the Mother of Dragons’, despite not being nominated this year, looked absolutely gorgeous, dressed in this nude Atelier Versace gown with delicate diamond jewelry.
Claire Danes from highly acclaimed espionage drama, ‘Homeland’ despite being nominated and not seeing gold, looked fabulous in absolute golden glory. Dressed in a glittery, golden Schiaparelli dress, together with fascinating Forevermark diamonds, she looked quite magnificent.
Kristen Bell seemed to have saved her best look for the eve of the premiere of her show ‘The Good Place’. Dressed in a dainty, buoyant, charming but not at all stuffy gown, her outfit made for the consummate elegant summer style. The plunging, floral-printed Zuhair Murad gown, paired with Brian Atwood heels and jewellery made for a breathtaking Emmys style.
