Manish Arora

 Manish Arora is an indian fashion designer based in New Delhi. In early 2011, he was appointed creative director of the women wear collection of the French fashion house Paco Rabanne, where he won many accolades for his groundbreaking designs in his tenure with them, which ended in May 2012. He is known for using a rich palette of psychedelic colors and kitsch motifs in his garments that combine traditional Indian crafts like embroidery, appliqué and beading with Western silhouettes.

His recently showcased collection featured Indian wear such as Salwars, Kurtis, Saris and Kaftans in his trademark style. He has made use of the color blocking technique that is currently a big fashion trend in both Indian and International fashion circles. Big bold prints and motifs embroidered in bright colors are seen in his garments. These designs will definitely appeal to women who love to display their feminine side to the world.

Nida Mahmood

 Nida Mahmood, a graduate from NIFT, is one designer who rebels against taking any of the traditionally drown trodden routes when it comes to her designs, choosing instead to express herself artistically, in her own trademark style. The best example of this would be her brilliant execution of the sari over denim designs which has successfully revolutionized the way the sari is perceived all over the world. She chooses to translate art, with fabric as a canvas.

Her new collection of garments featured Kaftans, Indo Western Tunics, Handbags and of course, her trademark saris. The color yellow featured prominently in most of her creations. She made use of big, floral motifs and prints, which displayed as a very appealing burst of color. The tunics had a rustic charm to them, while the handbags will automatically appeal to any girl or woman with a cheeky or flirty side.

Taika by Poonam Bhagat

TAIKA , established 1991 , means “magic” in Finnish. Stringent quality control and emphasis on styling , color coordination and impeccable embroidery techniques are the watchwords of this fashion label. The look is that of understated elegance. The ensembles are such that they are not loud and garish, but at the same time, softly yet surely make their presence felt.

Since its inception, this creative couple has worked together in an effortless tandem, complimenting each other’s skills and areas of expertise. Even though they use handicraft (old methods of printing and embroidery stitches), their garments are extremely contemporary and understated.

This collection showcases salwars, kurtis and indo westren tunics in fabrics of chiffon, georgette and satin. Simplistic embroidery, prints and sequin work is featured on most of the garments, making the overall effect very pleasing.
