Trendy Printed Sarees For Rainy Days

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

It’s monsoon, there’s a faint drizzle, the roads are sort of muddy and amongst all these you feel like going out wearing a Saree. Discard the thought of an exquisitely embellished Designer Saree if you don’t want it to get all stained and ruined. The most practical and convenient choice would be printed georgette Casual Sarees. For a modern and contemporary look, pick the ones featuring trendy printed pattern and save the florals for Spring. To brighten up your gloomy rainy days, we suggest go for funky prints rather than predictable florals.

Polka Dots Saree

Nothing’s more fun than going retro. Printed polka dots are timeless. Go groovy in retro printed Sarees with polka dots. The bigger polka dots are definitely more fun while the medium sized polka dots are most flattering and a safer bet.

Striped And Zig Zag Print Saree

Retro prints such as the classic stripes or the geometric zig zag pattern are also quite striking to look at. Printed Casual Sarees with a hint of colorful florals breaking the monotony of striped or zig zag pattern are fabulous to say the least.

Graphic Print Saree

A contemporary addition in the world of prints is the abstract or graphic prints. Dare to be different from the herd draped in a printed georgette Saree featuring interesting and unique graphic pattern. The difficulty in comprehending the pattern of these trendy Sarees evokes curiosity which quite naturally results in you being the centre of attention. With a plethora of colors combined together, pick one that catches your fancy and looks great on you.

With such attractive printed Sarees to choose from, it’s worth taking the trouble to step out draped in a printed Saree during monsoons!!

Bright and Vibrant Kurtis For Dull And Dreary Monsoons

Friday, June 25th, 2010

Monsoon or the rainy season is much anticipated and awaited as it gives immense relief from the unbearable heat that summers are so well known for. With the first shower of rain, people heave a sigh of relief as they can finally say adieu to the scorching heat of summer. But this happy feeling is also accompanied with a major worry since being the messiest time of the year, monsoons pose a big problem when it comes to deciding what to wear. Torrential rains and muddy puddles are the things to consider while picking up outfits for going out in the rains. Dress right and you would end up being a fashion diva instead of resembling a wet scarecrow.

Designer Kurtis

This is the time to wear tight or body fitting outfits rather than loose and flowing silhouettes; something that sticks to the body. Since rolled up jeans, leggings, Churidars, pencil Churidars spell convenience and comfort for monsoons, Kurtis become an obvious choice to be paired with them. While knee-length Kurtis would look great with Churidars, pencil Churidars or leggings, shorter Kurtis look absolutely cool and trendy with rolled up jeans. Heavily embellished Kurtis are not quite the best picks during monsoons; instead, printed or embroidered Kurtis in lightweight fabrics that dry easily such as light silk, georgette, chiffon, etc best suit this wet season. Go for bright and refreshing shades to combat the dull and dreary surroundings. Kurtis in bright and vivid shades of orange, pink, aqua, turquoise, blue, etc helps cheer up the otherwise gloomy mood of the season.

Complete the ensemble with a pair of funky rubber shoes, slippers or flip flops along with a big bright umbrella and you just might be tempted to do a little Gene Kelly-inspired ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ gig of our own splashing through the puddles.

Celina Jaitley

Celina Jaitley

Thank God it’s not sheer sari for once!! Lately celebrities have taken a rather strong liking to embellished sheer saris. We like Celina’s decision to move away from the herd. Recently at Egyptian Diplomat’s Bollywood Exhibition, Celina looked stunning in printed georgette saree in ash grey that flaunted printed bold red floral motifs. The saree featuring black border embellished with sequins was paired with black sleeveless blouse with sequins buttis. Black clutch, huge silver hoops and a wrist watch were the accessories she opted for.

Simple yet attractive, we loved Celina’s ensemble for the simple reason that it’s practical, wearable and extremely affordable. A similar outfit would be great when out with your friends, at work, when running errands or shopping. Pick a floral printed georgette saree and pair it with a well tailored blouse and minimal accessories. It would be great for summers especially since such saris are extremely comfortable and easy to carry off.  Check out our latest collection of printed saris in vibrant shades.

Summer is approaching and it’s time again for white to make its appearance. Although this pristine neutral shade transcends all seasons, Indian summers are best to flaunt white.

Recently, a couple of Bollywood stars were spotted in white at public events. We love the stars and love the way they carried off their white outfits!!

Sushmita Sen

Let’s start with Sush. Cream Anarkali suit in silk with the Dupatta featuring pale golden zari woven stripes draped over the shoulders. Accessorized with just a couple of chunky statement bracelets. French manicure, neatly styled hair and casual yet classy flip-flops.

This look would be ideal for formal events or even for social dos where an understated look is imperative.

Simple! Elegant!! Stylish!!!

Vidya Balan

As for Vidya, she looked absolutely charming in her comfortable cotton Chikankari Salwar Kameez. The contrast pear green dupatta made all the difference. Jhumkas looked perfect and the beaded bracelets gave an interesting touch. Pair of Kolhapuri chappals with a touch of green was just the right footwear to choose.

Consider a similar ensemble for a casual evening out with friends or family. College-goers might also find this look quite tempting.

Simple! Casual!! Charming!!!
