Bollywood Divas in Ethnic Outfits.

Hello everyone! We have entered another wonderful year with high spirits. Let’s take a look at how Bollywood divas are perceived as fashion trendsetters when it comes to ethnic outfits.

Prapti Bagga Arora, a fashion enthusiast, shares her thoughts about the divas in their ethnic outfits.

Going traditional is the latest trend in Bollywood, as several actresses have been spotted in traditional Indian wear at public occasions. Be it the red carpet of an awards function, movie previews, press conferences or any other public appearance; ethnic outfits are one of the most preferred attire among Bollywood beauties these days.Due to their vibrant colors, styles, and designs, ethnic outfits are gaining popularity, not only in Asia but also around the globe.

Kajol was spotted in a Manish Malhotra creation at the Berlin Film Festival. She wore this beautiful Anarkali churidar suit while representing Bollywood at an international platform. Her outfit was a mustard yellow pink dual color churidar suit, with beautiful zari zardosi on the kameez. Her kameez hemline had pinkish contrast border, which made the attire look gorgeous. She teamed it with a matching bottom and dupatta, which had a similar kadai work. She completed her look with drop earrings and golden footwear.

Kapoor sister’s Kareena and Karishma were spotted in this designer traditional Anarkali churidar suit at silver sceen. The picture is from Diwali special episode of Nach Balliye 4 where Kareena and Karisma Kapoor. Their stylish ethnic dresses were designed by famous fashion designer, Manish Malhotra. The dresses were in multi shaded colors with lot of work over it having bottom flair with golden laced borders.

Karishma’s dress was in peacock blue green tone with v-neckline. Also it had banarsi straps on see through full sleeves which she teamed up with a well fitted blue churidar, while Kareena’s kameez was in wearing green and pinkish shade in sweetheart neckline. The kameez had bronze sequins on sleeves and she paired her kameez with a contrast bronze silk churidar bottoms. Both the sister’s paired high heel strappy sandals to add glam to their look.

In Bollywood, silk sarees have their own special place.So much so that even an actress down south was given the name “Silk”.But as you all know  the evergreen Bollywood actress, Rekha is famous for her traditional silk sarees. Recently she was spotted in this golden silk saree at an awards function. She wore this stunning golden silk saree, which had beautiful gold zari and studs. She wore a matching blouse and golden jewelry to complete her ethnic look.The actress has always been famous for her Kanjeevaram silk sarees. Her heavy border sarees with a lot of work on them look beautiful. Her silk sarees have becomes a fashion statement in their own right. The designer silk sarees with embroidered sequins, zari, butties, studs, mirror and zardosi paired with short sleeved blouses have becomes her personal style statement.

My personal favorite is Priyanka Chopra’s designer lehenga choli, which she wore at IIFA 2011. The event was held in Toronto with the usual amount of hoopla. Every Bollywood Diva in an ethnic outfits rocked the green carpet this time. Personally I think Priyanka’s outfit is the best dress of the season. She looked gorgeous in the costume which was once again designed by Manish Malhotra. The actress looked like an Indian goddess in her white Lucknowi lehenga choli. The lehenga had detail silver gota work. She teamed her attire with a contrasting dark blue velvet choli. I simply loved her outfit, which made her look stunningly glamorous.

There is no doubt that Indian dresses are beautiful and versatile. Traditional Indian clothing is unique and different. With modernization, innovations by fashion designers and the undeniable Bollywood influence, modern women have endless choices when it comes to choosing an outfit, Modern women have alternative choices.
